At The Clarksville Country Club

Hole #1 Closure

November 7, 2018

The 2018 golf season has had its fair share of challenges for our greens.  From a non-existent spring with heavy rainfall, to a number of added tournaments in the oppressive heat and humidity of summer, and now what seems to be a fairly quick fall; our greens had very little time to strengthen in the spring, stay alive in the summer, and recover in the fall.  In short, it was just an abnormally long and hot summer.  With all of that being said, I am very proud of anyone who was on a hose syringing greens this summer.  I have heard many bent grass horror stories.
November 4th was our last tournament here at the CCC for 2018, and I feel that if we could close #1 green it would give me an edge on getting the green back to 100%.  If we are able to get the proper weather and keep extra traffic off of that putting surface, the conditions would be right for a full recovery.  I hate to ask this, because after I re-opened all of these greens, I made it a personal goal to never have to close them again.  If we are able to create these conditions, I feel that I could open that green in 6 or 8 weeks.   The crew and I are very thankful for your support and patience.
